FAFSA 2021


  1. Go to get your ID Number. You will need an ID number to complete FAFSA. 
  2. Go to Here you can start the application process.
  3. FAFSA = Expected family contribution.
  4. EFC

Parent contribution= Income + Assets

-Assets Equals *Cash/Savings/Checking Accounts*Investments*Business or Farm.

-Taxable income (from tax returns) *Adjusted Gross Income;*Interest/dividend

-Non -taxable income *non taxed Social Security;*Housing allowances;

*Payments to pension/401K plans

The following points comes from, concerning things to look at for when filing your FAFSA.

  • Keep your Federal Student Aid ID number in a secure place. Do not give it out to anyone.
  • Never give personal information over the phone or Internet unless you made the contact.
  • Avoid using websites that ask for credit card information when filling out the FAFSA.

HESC’s special FAFSA Assistance Hotline, 1-800-808-1790, offers live help for your students and their parents on Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 12 noon to 6:00 pm to answer any questions they have about completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The FAFSA Assistance Hotline is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon – 5:00 pm
